Jared M. Simms, 72, of Brick passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his residence.

Jared was born in Brooklyn, NY. His family subsequently moved to Lakewood, NJ, where he spent the majority of his childhood and early adult years. After he married, he and his wife of 40 years, Pat, moved to Avon, before moving to Brick, where he resided for thirty-nine years.

Jared was a computer technician for AT&T in Holmdel for many years and also worked in other positions throughout his career. Besides work, he enjoyed harness racing, bowling, golf, playing poker, watching sports, and Atlantic City trips. He was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan, frequenting many concerts and jamming out in his car. He was a proud father and grandfather, beloved uncle and brother, and dear friend to many. He had a great sense of humor and a sarcastic nature that will be missed.

He was predeceased by his father (Paul), mother (Lila), and brother (Michael). He is survived by his wife Patricia, two daughters, Meredith (Kevin) and Rachel (Walter), his son Russell (Patience); his grandchildren: Bradley, Douglas, Oliver, Vivienne, and Lila; his brother Fred (Dyan) and his sister Ilene (Ed).

A memorial gathering was held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy.88, Brick, NJ. The subsequent interment was private.
