Kathy and I dated off and on throughout high school and college. She was my first love. Before we graduated, we took some time off together and backpacked, hitchhiked, and caught many trains across Europe.

We hooked up in Luxembourg and I remember getting off the plane and seeing her at the airport. Some of the memories I have with her were spending a week or so on the island of Mykonos in Greece, running around blithely without any clothes, and sleeping cuddled together in the sand. We spent time in Rome where the Italian men kept pinching her on her butt, and all she did was laugh about it while not-so-secretly enjoying the attention. I can still see her smile. We went to Portugal and spent many days in The Algarve and after that, we explored many parts of Spain. While in Pamplona, we participated in the "Running of the Bulls" festival and then went on to other great cities throughout Europe. Altogether, I think we spent eight weeks in Europe. She was great to travel with. Kathy was really easygoing, passionate, and truly ready for anything.

After we graduated from college, she settled down near Ft. Lauderdale and I moved to Hawaii. I flew to Florida a couple of times to spend glorious, romantic weekends with her and I thoroughly and completely enjoyed her beauty. I never saw her again after she got married. When I learned that she had passed on from breast cancer at an early age, I was deeply saddened. She had a beautiful spirit, a wonderful smile, very few inhibitions, and was delightfully easy to be with. I will always love you Kathy, and I miss you.
