Frequently Asked Questions and Privacy Policy

  • This is my first visit to the website. How do I log in?
    • Click on Classmate Profiles (the top item in the left-hand list), then find and click on your own name to set up a FREE member account (click on the words click here now, under the heading JOIN HERE!)
    • Provide your work or home e-mail address, select a password (which you can change at any time), and tell us about your life since our days at LHS. Add your married name, children’s names, photos, etc.
    • Once you've established your profile, you will have access to virtually the entire website, which includes the ability to communicate directly with other classmates and view some protected areas such as Message Forum, etc.
  • I forgot my login information and/or password. What should I do?
    • You login using the e-mail address that you provided during your member account set up (include the domain name, e.g.: yourname@gmail.com). If you have several e-mail addresses and can't remember which one you used, or if you no longer have access to that e-mail address, click on Contact Us link in the left column and send us your new e-mail address.
    • If you remember your e-mail address but have forgotten your password, click on the Forgot password? link right above the green Log On button and the website will automatically e-mail your password to you within a few minutes.
  • Can I participate in this website and/or attend the reunion if I graduated in another year?
    • Yes! You can establish a "Guest Account" if you graduated from LHS in any class other than 1970 or were one of our teachers. Click on the Contact Us link  in the left column and ask us to set up a guest profile for you.
    • Once your "Guest Account" has been established, you will have access to virtually the entire website and will receive all notifications regarding the upcoming reunion, giving you the option of attending. Please encourage other friends from LHS to attend as well—regardless of their graduation year.
    • Even if you won't be attending the reunion, please update your profile and join the site. It’s a great way to reconnect with your fellow classmates!
  • Does this website cost me anything?
    • Membership in this website is absolutely FREE. You are not charged for anything!
    • The only charge you will ever incur is if you make a donation or purchase something related to the reunion.
  • Who has access to my Classmate Profile and personal contact information?
    • You can choose whether your Classmate Profile is publicly viewable on the website (e.g., by other classes, friends, and the general public) or is restricted to registered classmates only. If you restrict access, search engines and the general public will be blocked from accessing your Classmate Profile page. You can also choose to block your mailing address and phone number; in that case, only the city and state where you live will be listed. Click on the Edit Profile link in the Member Functions menu in the left-hand column, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to make your choice.
    • Remember that certain sections of this website are always restricted unless you are logged in. If you send us a news update for the Message Forum for example, it will only be viewable by classmates who are logged in.
  • Can I be notified if other Classmates update their Classmate Profiles?
    • YES! Click on Classmate Profiles, then click on the name of the classmate you would like to keep track of. Once s/he has registered, her/his profile will be displayed. Scroll down to the bottom of her/his profile page, click on the box that says Notify me whenever [Classmate's] profile is updated, and click on the Notify Me button. You will be notified by e-mail whenever that profile is updated—it's that easy!
  • Do members of the public or other classmates have access to my e-mail address?
    • No. To protect your privacy, your work or home e-mail address is stored  internally on the website (so classmates can send you a message) and is not visible to classmates using the website. You can decide to whom you want to provide your own e-mail address. To check whether you've received any new messages, click on the Check Messages link under the Member Functions menu in the left-hand column.
  • How will I receive e-mails from the website?
    • E-mails from classmates will be sent to you from the e-mail address postmaster@classcreator.net, so please add that e-mail address to your e-mail Address Book or your spam filter's 'this is not spam' list (terminology differs from one email provider to another). Your classmate's personal e-mail address will be included in the message. You can send e-mails to our website administrator by clicking on the Contact Us link in the left column.
  • What are examples of the e-mails that I might receive?
    • You will be e-mailed information about new website features, details about upcoming events, general announcements about classmates, occasional surveys, and other important news. In addition, a reminder e-mail will be sent to you on New Year's Day suggesting that the start of the new year is a good time to update your Classmate Profile.
  • Can I post my own photos, music, or videos to the website?
    • Yes! You can upload a current photo of yourself, your family, pets, vacations; old photos from days gone by, etc. — anything you want to share — by clicking on Edit/Upload Photos under the Member Functions menu in the left-hand column.
    • There is no limit to the number of digital photos that you can store on your Classmate Profile page.
    • Each photo is automatically resized to fit adequately on your profile page.
    • You can also upload any videos that you've previously posted to YouTube.com or other similar sites by clicking on the Classmate Profiles link, then following the instructions.
    • You can include links to playlists on your Classmate Profiles by clicking on the Classmate Profiles link, then following the instructions. Some popular playlist cites include Playlist.com, Reverb Nation, and CBS Radio Player.
    • And yes, you can add, delete or replace your own photos, playlists, or videos at any time.
  • How does the Message Forum work?
    • To see the forum, click on the Message Forum link and you can carry on a running conversation with fellow classmates who login and read the Message Forum.
    • Post a response to a prior message or start your own topic of conversation by asking a question, re-living an old memory, or sharing your thoughts on life.
  • Who designs and maintains this website?
    • This website was designed by volunteer members of the 40 Year Reunion Committee who also maintain the site using a web-based application. You may send questions, suggestions, or general comments to committee members by clicking on the Contact Us link in the left column.
  • Do the 40 Year Reunion Committee or the website host rent, sell, or in any way profit from having our Classmates' names, addresses and personal information?
    • No. We do not rent or sell any classmate information. We do not engage in any marketing or solicitation other than those directly associated with the 40 Year Reunion.
    • All personal contact information is held strictly confidential.
